2015 Cowboy Artists of America and Cowboy Crossings September 30 2015

We are thrilled to be part of the Cowboy Artists of America's 50th Anniversary Art Show and Sale.  Tim will have two paintings this year, and one of them is the largest he has done since becoming a member in 2007.

Trading Treasures

Trading Treasures

Oil on Masonite, 30" x 48"

Reserve: $60,000 MINIMUM-BID Ends at 6:00 p.m.

Here is Tim's quote for Trading Treasures:

"I have always admired the creative collaborations the the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association (TCAA) members have done. While I was viewing the TCAA's collection at the Crossings Art Show one year with Pablo Lozano and Domingo Hernandez, I began planning how I could do a collaboration with the TCAA.

I remember how Honorary Member, Don Hedgepeth, always brought his war bag of goods to trade with the Cowboy Artists of America on our trail rides each year and the fun that generated in camp. Many years ago, some of my cowboy classmates returned from the big northern ranches with shiny bits, spurs and braided wares and I was happy to trade with them. Many times since then, I have been at ranches with other cowboys and witnessed them trading their treasures.

I am excited to finally be doing a painting honoring western craftsmen from generations before, up and coming artisans, and the TCAA elite from now. I am tying this all together with a frame made by CA member, Bruce Greene's son, Adam, the center decorated by a tooled leather inlay by Cary Schwartz, ornamental metal corner cartouches by Wilson Capron Bits & Spurs, LLC, and a silver and gold filigreed and engraved name plate by Scott Hardy Silver/Goldsmith.

Tim has been honored with being the poster artist for the 50th Annual Cowboy Artists of America Art Show and Celebration at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. The painting features cowboys in camp "Trading Treasures", and they are TRUE collectibles since many of the items, like Wilson Capron's Longhorn Spurs, Cary Schwarz and Scott Hardy headstall with and Tim's prize Presidential CA bit that the two guys are holding. Tim even put a Rawhide Reata, Braided Rawhide Belt, Romal and Reins by Pablo Lozano, The popper on Pablo's reins was made by Cary Schwatz. All of these items are made by the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association members, who are also featured in Cowboy Crossings with the CA's. Other items are our own antique Kelly Steer Head - Arrow Shanked Spurs, Tim's new Jim Gregory saddle on the front horse, chaps on the ground are by Calla Cox Mackey, and the Hereford Bull Head Silver Spurs overlay are also Kellys. The cowboys sitting on the ground have a Billy Klapper 27 that was a gift to Tim by his wife, Suzie, for Christmas and Ernie Marsh Brothers Silver & Saddle Shop's Hummingbird Spade Bit."

We will also have another painting in the show. This painting has been to special previews for the 50th Anniversary as far away as the Booth Western Art Museum.

2014 Annual Letter November 05 2014

Dear Friends,
How can it be fall again already? This year has flown by for us. What started out seeming to be a really bad break with our basement flooding from a lawn sprinkler turned out to be a revitalization for the house AND the whole crew. We are excited to have new organization, beautiful walls and clean tile flooring. We officially have a sump pump and our print cabinets are now on ROLLERS!
We are bringing you something entirely different this year with Tim’s new drawing called “Mugged”.  Zeroing in on a particular moment at a branding; a cowboy is struggling to mug a calf.  “Spring” was intended to be the third in a set with “Whassup” and “Who Dat” from last year  and we are happy to be bringing it to you now
Here is Tim’s quote he gave for “Maybe It Will Be A Good Year”: “This cowboy has seen some lean times - getting by on what is available, with a braided baling twine piggin' string, a belting breast collar, handmade hobbles on his saddle and around his horses' neck. A makeshift canvas bag is about to give out as his fencing pliers are wearing through. Even the turkey feather in his well worn hat is frayed, but there is hope as rays of light shine through the storm clouds. Green grass, and spring flowers are coming, he has good cows and fat calves, and MAYBE IT WILL BE A GOOD YEAR.”
“If These Walls Could Talk” got such a great reception at the Cowboy Artists of America Art Show, we could not help but decide to add it to the selections that we chose to print!  Almost every person had a building that it brought to mind - whether it was an old corn crib, barn or an old homestead. We have also brought some long promised Giclée releases of some favorite images like “Where Change Comes Slowly”, “A Well Earned Drink”,“Rocky Mountain Paradise”, and “At The End Of The Day”.
Over the years I have shared the lives our family with you, events involving our children, their rodeo, athletic, and personal accomplishments. This tradition continues with our granddaughter, CJ and her growing involvement in barrel racing and basketball.  CJ and Carmin have been training CJ’s new barrel horse and they are now going to some races and improving all the time. CJ will begin her 3rd year playing basketball, following their undefeated season ending as champions of their league. CJ, Jake and Carmin still to live in Purcell, OK where Jake is an Associate Veterinarian for Dr. Joe Noble, Noble Equine Veterinary Services. They provide ambulatory equine vet services and specialize in reproductive services.  Carmin continues to work for us in  art sales, shipping  and managing the mailing list.

Calla and Justin still live in Bloomfield. Calla has been running our ranch and doing well in the cutting pen with Smartys Cachet.  Justin is doing well in the oil field and gets lots of good natured teasing for being on the cover of so many magazines.
We are still shipping everything in the continental United States FREE! We'll be glad to load our specially made boxes full of art and send it right to you. AND, on all of our reproductions, when you buy 3 or more, we are offering a savings of 20% with FREE shipping in the 48 contiguous United States! Use code 20120.
I hope to hear from you soon! Please feel free to leave us a detailed message if we miss your call. We try to have someone here 9-5, MST, Monday through Friday. Annual Letter 2013-14 November 05 2014

Dear Friends! We have had a super year and hope you have as well! We have some new things to show you. Tim has been "busy as a huntin' dog", painting around the clock. We had planned another cover piece, but "Peaceful Waters" got an overwhelming reception, so we decided to make it our featured painting this time. A handsome cowboy on a striking palomino mare getting a drink of that glistening water just takes my breath away. For almost 30 years, Tim has participated in Settlers West's Art Shows, especially, their Miniature Show. "Who Dat" and "Whassup" were two of the special little paintings that got a lot of great response to the mares and baby colt and thesefunny yearlings. These are a nice 12" X 16" size and would be perfect hung together or with a larger piece between them. On the next one, "Night Breezes", Tim was quoted, “We moved 3,000 head of yearling steers to summer pasture. We had a chuck wagon, range teepees & camped along the way. We would hobble our horses so we could catch them the next morning." We are also finally releasing the long awaited super sized Giclée versions of "Rocky Mountain Paradise" and, hopefully, "A Well Earned Drink" too!

Through the years, we have included you in many of our major family events and this is the biggest since the birth of our little granddaughter, CJ and Jake's graduation from Vet school. As I mentioned last year, Calla and Justin Mackey were going to be married. It was a wonderful, fun affair. We just lucked out with the weather, it was cold and windy both the weekend before and the weekend after. Planning was a joint effort with along with lots of family and friends, but especially Carmin.
