"There is an old story about an artist who is asked how long it took him to do a painting. He replies that every painting takes him a lifetime. Because of the knowledge and experience it took him.
That is true for this painting more than anyone will ever know. I started this painting while we lived on Eagle Creek in 1983. I have continued to work on it for over 20 years. The last three months, I worked on it night and day - anywhere from 8 to 20 hours a day. This painting has taught me volumes about seeing, drawing, textures, light, design, values, color, dimension, and PERSISTENCE."
