I look forward to writing this letter each year for you. Everyone seems so receptive to hearing our family updates!
Did you know that the CAA’s have been credited with reviving and saving the realist art movement when they started in the 1960′s? They are the longest surviving art group and are celebrating their 47th year. Tim was asked to serve an unprecedented second term as the president and will go back to being a board member after the Cowboy Crossing Show October 12th and 13th this fall.
“When Horse Whispering Gets Loud” has to be one of Tim’s most exciting pieces! It is bursting with action, dust and fabulous lighting. Our second new release is called “Straight From the Well”. Both of these two are already pre-selling like crazy!
Our third release is “A Lot Like Heaven”. The painting depicts a cowboy standing quietly beside his saddled horse, watching the sunrise. It will be the cover on Western Horseman Magazine and will be featured in Jennifer Denison’s Concept to Completion article. In the article, Tim explained,
“I call backlighting like that seen in this painting ‘God light,’ because it gives you a spiritual feeling. I wanted to convey one of those days when everything is going right, and you can look out over the horizon and have a spiritual moment about what you’re doing that day, the West, and all the rewards life brings you during those fleeting moments.”
You may have noticed a new cowboy in two of these paintings. Though viewers do not see the cowboy’s face, he is our soon-to-be son-in-law, Justin Mackey. He and our daughter, Calla, will marry this October! The two share a deep love of horses and each other. Jake, Carmin and CJ now live in Purcell, Oklahoma. Jake finished his internship at Elgin Veterinary Clinic and is now an associate veterinarian for Dr. Joe Noble, Noble Equine Veterinary Services. Carmin works for us in the art sales, managing our mailing lists. CJ started school this year, does it seem possible?
