Spring Branding

Reflections Of A Passing Day

More Than Just A Horse

The Blowup

Dear Friends,

What an exhilarating year this has been! After being a member of the Cowboy Artists of America (CA's) for only a few years, Tim was selected President. Soon after, the group returned their show home to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum for the first time since 1973. The CA's are showing in conjunction with the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association for the first combined show of the two organizations on October 14th and 15th, 2011, so a very exciting occasion. The CA's are the longest lasting artist group, celebrating their 46th Anniversary Show. We were very honored Tim was asked to create the cover of the 75th Anniversary edition of Western Horseman. "Reflections of a Passing Day" has been an overwhelming success since its release on the magazine. To Tim, the painting symbolizes the past and the future of the western rider. "The Blowup" is the most action packed painting Tim has done in a long time! I absolutely love bucking horses and their significance to the cowboy lifestyle. The excitement portrayed will bring a true conversation piece to your home or office.

"More Than Just a Horse" pulls at the heartstrings. Tim enjoyed painting this one so close to his heart. He said, "Last spring, we were moving 3,000 head of yearling steers to summer pasture. We had a chuck wagon, range teepees and camped along the way. We would hobble our horses so we could catch them the next morning. I have witnessed similar situations when there were full days, hard on horses and men. Some consider their working animals a tool and to others they are a partner and "More Than Just a Horse".

The drama of a working ranch is shown in "Spring Branding". Collectors fell in love with the original at the CA Show last fall. It truly is a piece where you feel as though you are there. Upon admiring the painting, individuals would actually cup their hands toward the calf's face and coo to try to comfort her.

This past year has brought about a lot of excitement and change in our family. Our son, Jake has graduated from Colorado State University as Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He, Carmin and CJ, have moved to Elgin, TX, where Jake is completing an internship with Elgin Veterinary Clinic. Calla works here in the business and is happily training her cutting horses.
